My name is Dr. Corey J. Gilbert. I would be honored to come speak at your next function on some topics we can often find difficult to discuss.
I speak on topics such as sexuality issues, marriage, sex in marriage, dating, relationships, family, trauma and abuse, and sexual identity issues.
I have been in private practice for over 17 years, teaching, ministering, preaching, and counseling all ages. My more narrow focus today is on sexual issues, sexual abuse and trauma issues, and marriage enrichment.
I grew up as a Missionary Kid in Chile, South America.
I attended Ouachita Baptist University, receiving a Bachelor in Music and a minor in Christian Counseling.
I then attended Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas where I received a Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Counseling (MAMFC) and a Master of Arts in Christian Education (MACE).
I defended my dissertation May 2006 and received my Ph.D. in Family Psychology from Capella University.
I am Licensed by the States of Oregon & Georgia to practice as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and have held the LPC designation in good standing in Kansas, Texas, Mississippi, Georgia, and Oregon.

I am a Certified Mediator and have extensive training in Biblical Counseling.
My dissertation was on Single adults and their sexual experiences in dating comparing across religious associations and level of church involvement.
My wife’s name is Kelly. Married July 12th, 2003 in Dallas, Texas.
We had our first child, a son in early 2006… His name is Alex.
Our second son, Blaize was born in early 2008.
Joining them in 2010 – a daughter, Mylie. What a blessing!
